Better Life for Girls

In July 2016, STF received a grant from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to implement Better Life for Girls in Uganda (BLFG), a new multi-sectoral initiative that seeks to strengthen efforts to prevent teenage pregnancy and underage marriage so as to reap the girl effect dividend. The program works towards strengthening national capacity to deliver improved sexual and reproductive health outcomes and socio-economic empowerment for adolescent girls in 14 districts in Uganda including Amuria, Bududa, Butaleja, Iganga, Kapchorwa, Katakwi, Mayuge in Eastern Uganda and Karamja region(Abim, Amudat, Kaabong, Kotido, Moroto, Nakapiripirit, and Napak districts). The program utilizes a holistic and gender-focused approach to empower girls and builds on previous country efforts to prevent teenage pregnancy.
